GENTSHIP
Gentship is a term derived from the words "Gent" and "Friendship", which in its entirety means a mutual and loving brotherhood bond. The name also extends appreciation and acknowledgement to women and recognises them all as sisters in our society.
Gentship is a rap-duo group that includes MONYC and Breezy Mongz Kogae. They began their musical journey together in 2010 when they met at the University of Johannesburg while studying for their national diploma in Entrepreneurship. The backbone of the name Gentship represents a sacred, truthful and respectful bond between brothers and sisters alike who share the same sentiments towards one another. This bond created a phrase which later evolved into an influential movement called "Don’t Be Shy". The purpose of this motto is to instill confidence and belief in your ability and talent. It became a motto that MONYC, Breezy Mong’z KoGae and others within the Gentship circle embraced and practised in their lives. It has been the core of our existence, our livelihood and our future endeavours
